To help our team raise money this year. This is our third year at the DSAJ Buddy Walk and we are looking to raise money for a GREAT cause. So please ask us how you can help make a difference in someone's life.
We are going for many goals and with your help they can become reachable. First of all we are hoping that we can get each walker to raise $50. The DSAJ said if every registered walker would have raised $50 each, then we could have raised another $80,000...and that's AMAZING. So please help us with this...every dollar counts and if we could get people to donate $5/each then we can reach that goal.
Another goal is to be one of the first 10 teams to raise $2,500 by September 1st. If we do this we become a Super Buddy- which will put our team name on a huge banner for all to see.
We are also hoping to find participants wanting to put a bucket in their store, restauraunt, work place, school, etc. So far, with Connie and Talley Tomlins help...we have 4 locations wanting to help, as well as, Talley's job wanting to make a nice donation in Marissa's honor. Another idea similar to this is the "Dress down for down syndrome" event where co-workers pay a small fee (anything) and they can dress down for the day.
Finally, we are hoping to have a car wash or stand in intersections collecting money.
Why are we doing all this you ask? Because this is our final year in Jacksonville and we want it to be one to remember, as well as, leaving our friends-impacted with other down syndrome individuals- with a chance to have another great year.
So thank you all for your support and we look forward to October 2nd.
